video
Taking pictures has definitely been my favorite part of this course so far. Video was a little more challenging than I thought due to the fact that I couldn't always keep my hand still. I decided to interview commuters on campus and the challenges they face with taking the bus or parking spots. This became a little difficult when I decided to get in the car or ride the bus with the person I was interviewing. When the bus came to a quick stop or went over a bump it was really hard to hold the camera still. I decided to use my digital camera to take video, I figure it had pretty good quality and it was easier to carry around. I interviewed three different people which was nice. The first person I interviewed was waiting for a bus, he uses a bus on a daily basis to commute from Dover. The second person lived very close to campus but still found it challenging to get on to campus. I actually rode in the car with her. Looking back, I probably would have conducted that interview differently because it was hard to get a good shot of her face because she had to keep her eyes on the road...not really sure what I was thinking with that. Then I interviewed someone in A lot, who doesn't live too far away from Durham, but there is not a close bus route for him to take so he needed to buy a parking spot and he faces a daily challenge with that. There are things I could have done differently but I think overall for a first try, it came out pretty well. I am looking forward to learning how to edit video and then put everything together!
